Codec - lets you watch DivX movies encoded with

AviPreview Cv.85Beta - allows you to grab a few
frames from a DivX movie regardless of how much of it
you have downloaded! This is very convenient for
making sure that movies you are d/ling off the donkey

Version 0.86.499 - one of the best divx/xvid

* DivFix 1.10 -
Used to make partially download DivX files watchable.
!!! W A R N I N G !!!
For your maximum safety, you should use this program
on a backup copy first to avoid
problems from possible bugs and from continuing the
download later without stripping the
index.
If you have a partially
downloaded movie and you want to look in it, then open
the file
with DivFix and use the "Rebuild Index" function. Now
you can look the movie. If you want
to continue the download, open the file again with
DivFix, use the "Strip Index" function,
finish the download and then use the "Rebuild Index"
again to correct the file-size in the
AVI header (the only data which is changed by DivFix
from the original movie). Check out the

* DivX 3.11
alpha - the codec that started it all! You need
this to watch any older DivX that is encoded with the
3.11 codec.

Divx 5.05 pro - This is an edonkey link, you must
have edonkey installed to have the link work. This is
the most recent release of the DivX codec. It not only
plays 5.05, but every version from 4 up to 5.05. This
and 3.11 alpha are the only two codecs you need to
watch DivX movies at this point. (also contains a
recent Dr. Divx release, an AC3 codec, and an XviD
codec).
* Divx Antifreeze
v0.4 - Sometimes video clips contain invalid
frames that cause Windows Media Player to freeze the
image. Theoretically the player should recover from
the problem, but it doesn't. So the image is frozen
permanently until the clip position is manually
changed (by moving position slider). DivX AntiFreeze
avoids such freezings.

ffdshow-20030523 - latest 'alpha' version of the
ffdshow filters. Check the
ffdshow sourceforge site for the most up to date
version.
What is ffdshow? ffdshow
is DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing DIVX
and XVID movies using libavcodec or xvid with rich set
of video postprocessing filters. ffdshow can also be
used as a separate postprocessing filter for other
decoders.

ffdshow filters.
* GDivX Player
v.1.9.1 - the most recent version of the excellent
GDivX player that does not forcefully include spyware,
be sure to uncheck the box for SaveNow when you
install unless you like have spyware on your computer!
It plays pretty much everything and doesn't use a
whole lot of CPU! You can get the most recent version
at
http://www.divxity.com/ but be warned that it will
autoinstall spyware! Use a program like Spybot Search
and Destroy or AdAware (both available at the bottom
of this page) to get rid of it!
* OggVorbis direct
show filters v.0.9.9.5- lets you watch movies with
OggVorbis encoded audio.
* SMR Patch
- somewhat outdated now but required to watch any SMR
movies.
* Subviewer v.3
- a program that lets you watch movies with separate
subtitle files.
* XviD Codec
- lets you watch movies that are encoded in XviD!!!
S/VCD downloads
* Elecard MPEG 2
codec - let you watch SVCDs in any of your various
media player programs. Check out

Bittorrent downloads

Bittorrent experimental client 3.2.1b-2 - the best
bittorrent client out there, lets you set the max
download/upload speed, the max number of uploads, and
other cool features. Check the

* Bittorrent
client 3.2.1 - the official bittorrent client
release. Check the

bittorrent site for the most recent version.

Other downloads
* 3C - A really great
little program that gives you the Hex or RBG values
for any color on the screen, or use the sliding bars
to create your own. Also has several slots to save
your favorite colors in.
* AdAware v.6 - one
of the top adware/spyware removal programs, second
only to Spyboy Search and Destroy. Use them both
together for the best result. Check the

*AIDA32 - a
neat little program that gives you an insane amount of
information about your computer and the hardware in
it.
* Cdex v.1.50 -
the best cd ripping program in existence. Completely
open source and lets your rip great high quality MP3s
or WMA for FREE. Check

* Daemon Tools v3.33
- a great program if you don't want to burn a lot of
CDs! Lets you mount the most common image files (iso,
bin/cue, etc.) to a virtual drive so you can install
your games, or watch your SVCDs/VCDs without burning a cd.
* Folding@Home
v.3 - a distributed computing program that folds
molecules looking for a cure to cancer amongst other
projects. Check out the

* Isobuster
v.1.4 - Lets you extract the contents of an image
(iso, bin/cue, etc) so you can get the mpg file out of
a SVCDs/VCD without burning it, amongst other uses. Go to
the
isobuster website for different language versions.
* LCDTest -
displays solid colors, one at a time on your screen to
see if you LCD monitor had any 'dead' pixels.
* MotherboardMonitor
v5.3.3.0 - a great program that lets you see the
temperature of your CPU, motherboard, check the
voltage output on your power supply, and many other
things. Check out

*Spybot Search and
Destroy v1.2 - by far the BEST adware/spyware
removal program! A must have for ANY computer, and its
